The Rolling Green Rendez-vous returns for its third edition on Tuesday, March 31st, at the Maison du développement durable. This day dedicated to eco-responsibility in the audiovisual industry will feature panel discussions, networking activities, and inspiring testimonials.

A welcome speech from the QFTC and a brief presentation of the Rolling Green program, followed by an overview of the day’s activities.

Discussion | Gain a better understanding of eco-emotions and how to deal with them
Sainte-Catherine Room
To kick off the day, we are pleased to welcome Amélie Gauthier, a doctoral student in psychoeducation and community manager at Éco-motion. Amélie will speak to us about mental health and the emotions associated with climate change, and offer tips on how to better manage them. She will also introduce Éco-motion, an organization that helps people refocus and regain their motivation.

Panel | Costumes : between creativity and environmental awareness

Costumes don’t just tell a story on screen, they also tell the story of how they were made!
Rental, reuse, choice of materials, transformation… which sustainable practices are really working today? Two costume designers will share their experiences and challenges in combining creativity and sustainability. An expert in sustainable fashion will also present concrete solutions for rethinking the way we consume textiles.

Panel | Budgets, needs, and barriers to sustainable production: results of the study on the impact of eco-friendly measures on production budgets

In order to better understand the challenges involved in adopting more sustainable practices in production, On tourne vert called on the firm Nordicity to conduct a study on the costs associated with eco-responsible production.
The team in charge, along with producers who participated in the study, will present the results. They will also propose ways to better anticipate and integrate eco-responsibility costs into budgets and estimate the associated needs and obstacles in order to identify concrete mechanisms that can promote their adoption on a larger scale.

Panel | Inspiring stories of sustainable audiovisual transition

This round table will bring together industry professionals to share their experiences in sustainable audiovisual production. Through their careers and initiatives, they will explore:
- Best practices and challenges in co-production
- The transformation of film studios to support the transition
- The environmental responsibility of production companies
An inspiring exchange to rethink the industry and bring about sustainable change in practices.

Panel | From use to impact: rethinking the use of digital technology and artificial intelligence
Sainte-Catherine Room
This panel builds on last year’s discussion, which focused on the ethical and environmental challenges of artificial intelligence.
Our three speakers will discuss our relationship with digital technology, the impacts of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity issues, as well as the collective and individual responsibilities that arise. The Directors Guild of Canada will also present its tools for low-carbon generative AI.

Projection | Student short film “Lemmings,” followed by a discussion with the team
Sainte-Catherine Room
As is tradition at Rendez-vous On tourne vert, we will close the day with the screening of a short film accredited by On tourne vert. This year, the film in the spotlight is “Lemmings,” directed and produced by students at Cégep de Jonquière ATM.
After the screening, the team will present what has been put in place and will be available to talk with the audience.
